I'm taking my last break at work today. I wasn't going to take it yet, I was just going to run to the kitchen, make a cup of cocoa, and keep working for awhile, but that plan has changed. I made my cocoa, and then I tried to get the plastic lid to fit onto my disposable paper-ish cup, it wouldn't go. Instead of taking a step back and rethinking things, I elected to keep pushing at it in order to force it on. Instead what I succeeded in doing was getting my cup to do a sort of odd bendy trick and fling cocoa ALL OVER our kitchen. I swear, and grab for a paper towel. No paper towels on the holder. I grunt, looking behind me to see if anyone's seen my horrible mess yet (they hadn't) and dive for the cabinet where we keep EXTRA paper towel rolls. No paper towels in the cabinet. Thinking fast, I then lean up to reach into the cabinet we keep extra kleenex boxes. No kleenex boxes (WHAT'S THE DEAL?!?). Finally I grab a handful of coffee filters (what do I care, I don't drink coffee) and start to pathetically smear the mess around with them. Then I notice the gross community sponge by the sink. After like, 10,000 wipes, rinses and squeezes, I cleaned up the mess in the kitchen. I still have splatters on my shirt though. And now my break is almost over, but I'll write the things I decided to write about, while trying vainly to clean my shirt in the bathroom:
1) I need to start writing in this thing more frequently again.
2) I need to start replying to the like, 2 months of personal emails I've been ignoring, and then set some sort of schedule for myself so that I KEEP replying to my personal emails, so they don't get this bad again.
3) I need to start working out or SOMETHING, because I'm way too fat.
and lastly, as promised,
4) Ai Uchida was not the only one to tell me that my contact form wasn't working. Aaron Burkhalter told me in an email he actually sent me BEFORE Ai's email, but it was a longer email than hers, and I didn't finish it, and he mentioned it at the bottom. (Oops!) When he pointed this out to me later, I promised to post a correction. :)
