I'm not feeling well, but I promised myself I'd write a post today, so here goes. Anyone who has emailed me recently and not gotten a reply, fear not! I've been out of town, and will respond to you as soon as I...well...feel like it.
My paternal grandfather passed away the week before last, and Brett and I were in Oklahoma last week visiting with family and attending his services. I'm sad he had to go, but he's suffered with Parkinson's for awhile now (and I guess at the end it was pretty bad), so at least he's at peace. And even though we were in mourning, it was still nice to see my dad, step-mom, and little brothers Joe, Sam, and Jacob, and to reconnect with extended family members I haven't seen in a long time.
We got back late Saturday night, had an impromptu brunch with my mom, step-dad, and step-brother Mike on Sunday morning to celebrate Mike's birthday, ran some errands and then, faced with my first afternoon at home with nothing to do in quite some time, I decided to get sick. :D Well, *I* didn't decide, but I think my body did. I've felt crappy for the past week or so, but for the last 24 hrs I've pretty much had a full blown cold; sneezing, runny nose, stuffy head, headache, achy muscles/joints, cough, sore throat, ear aches, heavy chest, dizziness, nausea...the works.
So...yeah. I feel like poo, and Brett has a ton of catching up to do at work so he can't really help take care of me, so I'm just here throwing an itty bitty pity party for myself. It's cool, though. At least I'm not on sick time, since I don't have a job! :) And the weather today was stunning; I love sunny cold fall days.
Blah. Anyway, I'm done sitting up at this computer, so I'm going to go curl up with my blanket and crackers again and watch Charmed. Later, skaters.
